What are royalty-free images?
Introduction
Royalty-free is a type of license where you pay for the media once (or get it for free, like here!) and can then use it multiple times without paying additional fees (royalties) for each use.
What it means on The Digital Furnace:
You get a license, not ownership. When you download from us, you receive a free, perpetual license to use the content according to our License Terms. The copyright remains with The Digital Furnace/creators.
Freedom to create. You can use the content in almost all your personal and commercial projects—websites, ads, merchandise, social media, videos, and more.
The key rule: You cannot resell or redistribute the original digital files themselves. You can’t put them on other download sites, sell them as stock assets, or include them in products meant for other designers (like template packs).
Are They Copyright Free?
No. Royalty-free is not the same as copyright-free or public domain. The copyright is still held by the creator (or The Digital Furnace).
Our Promise:Â We grant you a very simple and generous license to use the work. You don’t have to worry about paying us, but you also don’t become the new copyright owner.
Your Responsibility
While we strive to offer high-quality content, it is your responsibility to ensure your use of any image, video, or logo is lawful.
Model/Property Releases:Â We do not guarantee that releases exist for content featuring people, property, or logos.
Trademarks & Copyrights:Â Some content may include copyrighted designs or trademarks. We do not warrant that your use will not infringe on third-party rights.
Always check our full Disclaimer and License Terms for the complete legal details. This is especially important for sensitive commercial uses (e.g., large advertisements).
